I put the finishing touches to the pumpkins, and took a step back to inspect them carefully. It had taken almost an entire day to finish them, but now that I saw them, they were definitely worth the effort.

Just then, a twister struck our little home…or so it seemed. I smiled as I realized that my 5-year old son Timmy was finally back from the playground. I just couldn’t wait to see the expression on his cherubic face when I showed him the fruits of my labor.
“Daddy, I’m home….” shouted Timmy, a bit redundantly, as he dashed into his room….and froze. It seemed that he had lost the power of speech, as he just stood and gawped at the four pumpkin monsters on his desk.
“Daaaaaad…..” he finally asked tentatively, “Is that was I think it is?”
I beamed as I answered, “When my only son asks me for anything, can I ever refuse?”
Timmy blurted out, “But you said you didn’t have the time….”
I ruffled his unruly hair affectionately, and replied, “I’ll always have time for you, my son. Now go and keep them outside. These four boys will never bully you again.”

What a lovely dad 🙂
Such a caring dad, if a little over-zealous.
Ooh! Good ending.
Thank you so much Chelsea
