PHOTO PROMPT © Fatima Fakier Deria
I looked with pride at the six chairs, one each for the Heads of State of the six most powerful nations of the world.
They had been on the brink of war before I somehow managed to get them to this Peace Summit. I had personally overseen all arrangements to ensure that absolutely nothing could disturb their fragile egos, and start another World War.
They came out into the lawns now, ready for their evening tea, their dark suits presenting a glorious spectacle against the pristine backdrop of the greenery, and the freshly-painted white chairs.
Freshly-painted…..
OHHHHHH SHIIIIIIIIIIIIT!

Ha! I’m sure they’ll get over it! Funny twist at the end there
I hope so too, for all our sakes 🙂 Thank you so much Lynn.
My pleasure
🙂🙂🙂
Nice twist, Anurag and beautifully written.
Thank you so much Moon
Love it, can almost smell the paint! 🙂
Ha ha ha, thank you so much. So can they, I’m sure.
That made me laugh
Then my job is done. Thank you so much Neil.
🙂 🙂
Thank you so much Sandra
It will help break the ice at least 🙂
I’m not so sure about that, but let’s hope so.
Well there goes the world then… good one 🙂
Thank you so much draliman
Dear Anurag,
I didn’t see that coming. That might put a damper on the peace talks…white paint, dark suits…oh dear.
Shalom,
Rochelle
I know, I’m extremely worried myself 🙂
HA! Hope those leaders have senses of humor!
Hoping against hope.
Love the twist. Great story.
Thank you so much Lisa
I like to think they all get a laugh out of it…
Hoping against hope there 🙂
I like to be the optimist 😉
Hahaha. Lovely ending. He might have to host a peace summit of a different kind.
Thank you so much Irene
Every detail attended to…
Liked your story, and the twist, Anurag.
Thank you so much Penny
Brilliant! Thanks for my first grin of the day!

Thank you so much Keith
Oh shit, you did it. Made me smile.
Love it.
Randy
PS What’s going to happen to you now that your story is out?
Will you be wearing fresh stripes yourself? A prison stint for not waiting for the paint to dry?
Shot at noon? A simple demotion? Naw, too easy.
Banishment?
Hopefully, as this is a peace summit, they will all laugh at themselves and not take it all so seriously – which is the point, no?
I wish you were right. Sigh!
Ha ha, The devil is in the details.
Absolutely. Thank you so much Tracey.
You saying the paint was a little TOO fresh? That’s what the world gets for catering to fragile egos.
The world never had a choice, did it? All rulers always (with some exceptions maybe) have been insecure, with fragile egos.
i wonder what they’re gonna do now. paint the town red? 🙂
With the narrator’s blood most probably.
Now, they have patterns on their backs and targets on their butts. Great ending!
Thank you so much Russel.
lol Thank you so much for this laugh! Ever so well written!
Thank you so much Sascha.
Can’t let them be seated, can’t make them stand up!🤔
Stuck in a state of perpetual limbo I guess 🙂
Oh my goodness, such a funny twist! =)
Thank you so much Brenda.
Well, that would certainly be awkward if they all sat down in those chairs. Wet paint and all.
Absolutely.
Too funny at the end there! Nicely done.
Thank you so much Russell.
Peace summit – sounds like another whitewash!
Ha ha ha ha ha
I only hope they do not notice until they are well and truly stuck down, then they will have to talk. If they are able to that is.🙂
Ha ha ha. True that.
🙂 I hope it is that cheap type of paint that is made from lead. Great take.
Ha ha ha. I hope so too.
This is hilarious! All that dignity about to get painted on the backside 🙂
Thank you so much Granonine
Love the way you pull back into the absurd here. Very funny.
Thank you so much Jilly
Since they’ll all have white butts, maybe not a problem, it’s only if they try to blame each other for those white butts that we’ll all be in trouble 😉
True that 🙂
Hehehe, what a great twist. When they stick to the chairs they can’t press red buttons, ergo: world peace.
Hadn’t thought about that. Thank you so much 🙂
Oh lovely. At least they will all have similarly painted suits. Perhaps they can club together to pay for the dry cleaning bill and peace will ensue.
Ha! love the unexpected last line. He was feeling so confident until he realised the mistake. Oh well. Hopefully the purpose of the meeting will be more important than paint on their suits.
Thank you so much Fatima
Oh shit… I can see how this turn the mood around… so war instead of peace?
I fear that could be the fate facing us 🙂
Really liked your story- fluently told with a great surprise ending – ha ha !
Thank you so much.
Haha! The image of them standing and walking away together is too funny! I hope they have a sense of humor! 🙂
I somehow doubt that 🙂 Thank you so much Jan.
Bahahaha loved that last line!! Great twist.
Thank you so much Laurie.
An imaginative take on the photo prompt. I really like the switch at the end ! I can just picture those heads of state, in expensive suits, looking silly. Well done.
Thank you so much
