Midnight Marauders

We froze as we heard a scampering sound, and then a big THUD!

As Pat checked through the keyhole, I whispered accusingly, “It’s Christmas Eve, the house would be empty, you said!”

Pat replied meekly, “But how was I to know that Santa would leave Rudolph behind accidentally?”
