Redundant!

No one needs a postman anymore.

Not his customers, the billions of hearts he used to connect to each other.

Not his employer, the Govt., which now looks upon him as a redundancy.

And not even his own family, it appears…or they would have paid me the ransom I was asking for him.

    Wow! Great story. So sad for the poor postal worker. Gone the way of the dinosaurs. Where I live they make ends meet by delivering Amazon orders early in the morning and on weekends. A sign of the times.
