We came running till the end of the street, and stopped suddenly, transfixed by the magnificent artwork in front of us.
“When did that happen?” my beloved exclaimed.
I shook my head and replied, “I have no idea, but isn’t it stunning?”
“I’ve never seen anything so beautiful in my life,” she assented.
I walked up to her, and kissed her gently. “I wish I could get something like that for you one day, my love,” I whispered.
She smiled impishly, but with just a hint of a tear in her eye, and scolded me in mock anger, “Now now, don’t you be going all soft on me. Let us do what we came to do, before someone catches us.”
I sighed, and as both of us lifted our hind-legs and aimed at the wall, I swore silently to myself that I WOULD get a bone as big as that in the painting for my sweetheart one day.
