Lost Glory

Photo prompt courtesy Randy Mazie

I looked at the lonely, abandoned tombstone, and my eyes welled up with emotions.

I fondly recalled the countless occasions on which my life had been saved because of this man’s greatness.

But there is no accounting for the vagaries of human nature. I’m not a kid anymore, but this moral turpitude, nay utter perfidy, of his friends, family, and followers still shook me to the core.

No crowds thronging his grave, no one remembering him, or paying their respects in the form of fresh flowers.

Flowers….

Fresh flowers….

Damn, I could kill for a bite of some fresh flowers!
