I run like the devil to save my life. Risk a glance behind me, only to realize he’s much closer to me than I had imagined.
And then I see the tunnel, and I know I’ll be OK.

With a renewed burst of energy, fueled by hope, I rush into the tunnel.
This is my safe place, no one can touch me here.
It is then that I feel it, rushing towards me from the front. But wait, that’s not possible, the train HAS to come after I have crossed the tunnel. It’s in the rules!
BEEP BEEP.
BEE…..

I sincerely hope this is just a game.
I went too subtle it seems. It’s the Roadrunner, being chased by Coyote 🙂
Oh, thank goodness for that! Road Runner always survives 🙂
There’s rules, and then there’s the trend of experience.
True that.
That’s the problemw with rules… made to be broken.
Indeed 🙂
Ha, this ain’t no movie, bud!
Absolutely.
For once Wiley Coyote gets to win! 🙂
Indeed, poor guy sure deserved it.
I’m tickled by Road Runner referring to Wile E. Coyote as the devil. It makes a lot of sense from that perspective!
Ha ha ha. Indeed. Thank you so much Kestril.
i guess with every rule there’s an exception. too bad. 🙂
Yup, oops 🙂
Rules are made to be broken? So much for plot armor.
Ha ha ha. Thank you so much Alice.
I was sure it was the roadrunner!!
I’m glad you were right 🙂
Those damn rules! Great read.
Thank you so much Lisa Rey.
Beepin’ brilliant!

Thank you so much Keith.
Very creative! I love the roadrunner, he always survives. =)
Thank you so much Brenda, though he seems to be in trouble in this case.
But, he’s always in trouble and comes out okay (haha). 🙂
Reading others’ comments, I realize that this is supposed to be the roadrunner narrating and that made enjoy the story all over again!
Thank you so much Jade. Sorry for being too vague and subtle on this one 😦
Dear Anurag,
I’m glad I read your comment. I didn’t quite catch the Roadrunner/Coyote reference. Oops, that train didn’t follow the beeping rules. Nicely done.
Shalom,
Rochelle
I think I got too subtle on that one Rochelle 😦
I got it on the BEEPBEEP at the end 🙂
I’m glad you did, nit too many got it, so obviously I went too subtle on this one 🙂
Or maybe I just happened to LOVE the Roadrunner 🙂
I never judged the roadrunner a thinking man… I guess I was wrong. Nice take.
Thank you so much Violet.
The rules only work if everyone agrees to them. Life for instance is a cheater’s paradise.
Absolutely.
Ohh the roadrunner always come out on top… the coyote will be bruised again.
In this case, the Roadrunner seems to be in trouble though 🙂
I’ve long waited for the day when the roadrunner gets his comuppance. Thanks for delivering the goods.
Ha ha ha, thank you so much Russell. Glad to know that I wasn’t the only one rooting for poor Coyote.
