Her First Night Out

She was sleeping so peacefully that I didn’t have the heart to wake her up. But the moon was up, and her friends would be coming to pick her up for her first ‘night out’ soon.

I gently stroked her hair, and whispered, “Jenny, sweetheart, it’s time.”

She opened her eyes and gave me a sleepy smile that nearly broke my heart. If only…

I kissed her on the forehead, and said, “Remember to wait till exact midnight before you take your first bite.”

Life of a parent is especially tough when one’s child has just turned into a werewolf.
