Neighbour’s Envy

I look wistfully at the neighbour’s farm. It appears like just a fence separates our lands, but I know the difference is not just cosmetic. If our place is earth, theirs is heaven.

I stare intently across the fence, and I can see gently floating wisps of ethereal clouds on their farm.

I have been lusting after what lies there for a long time now, but no more. I’ll get it today, or die trying.

I take two steps back, and then, start running towards the fence, slowly at first, and quickly gathering speed as I run.

And just three feet from the fence, I jump….and somehow clear the fence by a whisker.

I land a bit ungainly, to be honest, but I don’t care. I’m finally close to what I’ve always dreamed about.

I take a deep breath, bring my head down, and take a huge bite.
Aaah……. AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH. What the heck was that?

The grass was indeed greener on the other side, but what I hadn’t realized was that it was astro-turf!

Are we talking about a horse or donkey? Anyway neither will recognise an Astroturf. Simply it may not taste as good.

  4. Hahahaha! The grass always seems greener on the other side, especially if it is Astro-turf! LOL! Great story! By the way, is this a horse, a cow, or a sheep?
