The Rebirth

He opened his eyes to find himself in an empty home. He had no idea who he was, or how he’d come to be here.

He tried to move, but screamed aloud in pain. His legs were just stumps, like that of a baby.

He looked at his arms now, and huge drops of tears rolled down his eyes. They were even worse.

Hunger was gnawing at his insides, but he couldn’t move to search for food. He looked around desperately, and saw a bar of soap. He nibbled at it with his tiny teeth, but immediately spat it out.

His round face filled with anguish as he tried to remember his past.

“I am…” he started off tentatively, and stopped. Try as he might, he could not remember a thing about himself.

Encouraged by this, he continued, “I am…” Now, a woman’s shriek rang out in his ears. She was crying out a name. And as soon as he heard that name, it all came back to him.

“I AM…” he said in a steady voice, “LORD VOLDEMORT.”
