The Perils of Cycling

Cycling long distances, especially on rough, hilly terrains can be a perilous exercise indeed, as Jean Pierre was discovering to his chagrin.

The first major challenge, of course, is the call of nature, and when and where to answer it optimally. You ideally look for a deserted stretch of road with bushes or trees by the side that are long and dense enough to cover the..errr…act.

However, if no one can see you from the road, the corollary is equally valid: you cannot see anyone on the road. And Henri took full advantage of this ironclad law of Physics as he calmly sauntered over to Jean Pierre’s bicycle parked on the side of the road, and rode away on it.

As Jean Pierre bellowed in frustration upon seeing this, I rushed up to him.

“I saw everything,” I sympathized, “Did that scoundrel get anything valuable besides your cycle?”

Jean Pierre replied, “No, thank God, the cycle is insured, and all my valuables, like my wallet, phone etc. are in this pouch on my belt.”

“Phew!” I cried out, “How lucky is that! Now please hand everything over to me without making a fuss if you want to stay alive!”

Haha, poor guy. Just not his day. Always take the call of nature before setting off on your journey! 🙂

I loved the twist in this story. It was nearly enough to put me of stopping for a call of nature when cycling.😉
