Run Dale Run

Her face was dripping with sweat, clouding her vision, and her lungs were on fire, but Dale knew she couldn’t afford to slow down, or the men would catch up with her.

Running like crazy, she almost didn’t realize that she had reached the edge of the roof. The next roof was too far away, this was definitely the end of the road for her.

She’d almost lost hope when she saw it- the awning.

Without breaking her stride, she leaped towards it, as if she was flying.

This early morning Parkour practice was much more fun than she’d thought!

Thought its going to be an edge of the seat thriller…and then it ended on a peppy note of Prakour! Never saw the end coming this way. Wonderful twist at the end!

Lovely change in direction of thought in this for the reader; from tension and fear for the plight of the character to a sudden realisation of her competitive streak. Made me smile.

I must admit, I had to look up “Parkour.” When I did, I appreciated the “twist” at the end. (And I had fun imagining Dale in the role.) 🙂
