How My Dad Met My Mother

Every 4th of July, Mom loves telling us the story of the day she first met Dad.

Mom had gone to see the carnival when she heard a wolf-whistle. She quickly turned around angrily, only to find a huge man leering at her. She had never felt so handicapped by her pencil-thin figure.

It was then that a sailor pushed her gently aside, and hit the ruffian so hard that he FLEW up, leaving behind just an artificial leg in a boot.

Mom rushed into the sailor’s arms, and whimpered, “How can I ever thank you Mr…..”

Dad replied, “Popeye.”
