The Aftermath #PortugalPlots #28DaysInPortugal

They tried to kill me in various ways

But my resilient spirit left them in a daze

They were crushed, and I, the winner, took it all

While they regretted their madness, in taking that near-fatal call

They tried to ply me with industrial-strength alcohol  also known as poncha,

But you very well know that couldn’t have helped against me, don’t cha?

Before they knew it, I was back with a bang

And they were reduced to just abusing me, in English, Hindi  and Punjabi slang

They tried to satiate my hunger with Lapas, or limpets,

and Bolo do Caco, the local garlic bread

But I waited patiently for the meal to get over, and then, within no time, they were back to seeing red

Finally  with no recourse visible, they turned to God

For by now, they were feeling as if I was lashing them with an iron rod

But their prayers went unanswered, their pleas fell on deaf ears

For at that moment, I was mightier than the almighty, the sum of all their fears

They finally realized that they couldn’t get rid of me, howsoever hard they might try

So they decided to bow before me, and copious amounts of tears did they cry

For I had come with a very important lesson to explain, hitting them in waves again and again

That you thought you had achieved something by completing that trek, but remember, there can be no gain without painIMG_20180605_182116.jpg
