Zach looked at Jillian lovingly and said, “Without you, I feel like a fish out of water. Will you marry me?”
Jillian’s face broke into a huge grin, as she replied, “I thought you’d never ask.”
Their lips came close to each other’s to seal the deal, when Zach suddenly stopped, looked at Jillian in panic, and shouted, “Who the hell are you?”
Jillian’s heart broke, once again, and she moved away quickly.
“Well, I’ll just have to try again….in a few seconds,” she thought to herself as she looked at the goldfish who had stolen her heart.

This is also my final entry for the #AtoZChallenge and #BlogchatterA2Z. The final letter in the challenge was Z, of course, which, in my tale, stands for Zapped!
Finally, I apologize to all the goldfish in the world for maligning them unnecessarily. I know that the ‘goldfish-3-second-memory’ is a myth, but as we all know, myths lend themselves to stories so much better than the boring reality 🙂

LOL. I hadn’t heard the rumour that goldfish have a 3 sec memory – it would make them the same as snakes in that regard. Your story though is lovely, funny but tragic. A romance that fails all because of memory issues.
Too funny! At least, one would get to relive the first love feeling over and over. Maybe that’s why she persists.
