“Sitting in a balcony of the most exclusive hotel in Davos, sipping hot cocoa with the love of your life, an unhindered view of the richest people in the world in their cable cars, what more could one wish for!” I asked my wife rhetorically. It was our first trip to the World Economic Forum, and we had planned everything down to the last detail to avoid any stress.
My wife kissed me gently and said, “I agree, but I’m just worried about my Susie. I wish we could have brought her with us.”
I replied in a wistful tone, “Yeah honey, I miss her too, but we too needed some time together, just the two of us.”
Things had not been very smooth between us lately, so when this opportunity came up, I grabbed it with both hands.
She sighed and put her head on my shoulder, and for some time, none of us said a thing. And then, I looked at my watch and said, “Do you think it’s time yet?”
She replied, “I guess. They’ve been stewing in those stalled cable cars for more than an hour now. Are you making the ransom call, or should I?”

Ha, I had thought they were a rich couple – I think I may prefer them as a couple of criminals holding the elite to ransom!

Like this idea, and wish we could do the same with our so called leaders……. then take pot shots at them (which was my original thought when I saw Al’s photo this week).

Great flash! Shocking how apparently ‘ordinary’ people can do terrible things. It happens all the time.

Always wicked good twists! I do believe you’ve got quite a bit in your own ‘grain of rice’ that poetic forms may not be necessary ๐
