The Perfect Shot

“OUCH!!!! What did you do that for?”

“Because you messed up again, you loser.”

“But I was just a wee bit late.”

“Your ‘wee bit late’ means at least a million less likes on Insta…wee bit late, it seems.”

“It’s not my fault, my camera was not fast enough.”

“Yeah, it’s the camera’s fault of course.”

“It’s still not a bad shot…OOOOOFFFFF!!!”

“Not a bad shot? Not a bad shot? It is just a picture of a solitary camera on a dark road, not of me gobbling up the owner of the camera seconds before this shot!”

  1. LOL. That last line was a shock that got me laughing.

  2. neilmacdon says:

That is the mark of civlisation – when people no longer committed atrocities and then memorialised them; instead commissioning others to do the memorialisation

  3. draliman says:

Oh no! I guess they’d better find someone else to eat. And get one of those special super-fast cameras.

  4. Iain Kelly says:

It’s all about the likes on Instagram, which of course is one of the downsides to photography today, it has to be attention grabbing and dramatic to go viral. Funny story.

  5. Lynn Love says:

Fun story there. I’d wish them better luck next time, but hey – the next meal might be me!

  6. Alice Audrey says:

Oh, i think I saw the gobble up shot! No, wait. That was facebook.

  7. yarnspinnerr says:

Very neat and a very well aimed barb. Real fun.

  8. What a story. Definitely one for the pot!

No pun, bun, or other foodstuff intended.

  9. plaridel says:

he must be really hungry and couldn’t wait. perfect shot be damned. 🙂

  10. subroto says:

He is right though. Food tastes better when it’s been instagrammed.

  11. Sandra says:

Great idea. And a touch of social commentary too. Well done.

  12. rgayer55 says:

Crap, it was supposed to be a food shot. Probably for a commercial or magazine ad. Now, they’ll have to start all over. Perhaps they should practice with a mannequin first.

  13. Haha – I wasn’t expecting that last line!

  14. Dale says:

    Ha ha! Too funny!

  15. pennygadd51 says:

The ‘playground’ dialogue and behaviour is very appropriate for the aliens of your story!

  16. Laurie Bell says:

Ouch… a miss and a murder it seems. Great story.

  17. Dear Anurag,

Ah the stuff reality TV is made of. Aliens on camera or Snapshot of a Murder? Good one.

  18. granonine says:

Oooooh,, creepy. Gobbling up a human–must have been a pretty sizable something or other !

  19. HA! Very funny. You took us on a wild ride with this one.

  20. Gobbling up owners would have made instagram crazy… (though it might be against “community rules”)

  21. prior.. says:

they must have a different following to have that many (millions) and all this gobbling up – lol
